Owen Coyle has said that he is still interested in signing Carlos Vela from Arsenal in the January transfer window. Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is open to the idea of sending the 21-year-old out on loan, with there no guarantee he will get regular games at the Emirates.

Coyle, who took Jack Wilshere from the Gunners last term, is hoping that situation will play into his hands and he will soon have added competition for places up front.

He said: "It's not rocket science to know that there are only a few days left of the window. Certainly Arsenal and Arsene Wenger will make a decision on that in the next couple of days.
