SOCIEDAD CLOSE TO VELA

Spanish club Real Sociedad has said that they are extremely confident of signing Carlos Vela from Arsenal in a permanent deal this summer. The Mexican international has been lacking the arrival of first-team opportunities at the Emirates stadium, which led to his loan move to the Spanish club Real Sociedad last summer.

He was extremely influential for the team, as they finished in the 12th position last season. Carlos Vela was a regular first-team player for this Spanish club, which has led to rumours that he will be looking for a permanent move away from Arsenal in order to play regularly.

It has proven to be the case after the Mexican recently confirmed that he would like to move away from the club are permanently. He has also said that the Spanish club Real Sociedad would be his perfect destination because he felt extremely happy during his 12 months at the club. The Spanish club have also said that they would be making every attempt to sign the Mexican, who is only 22 years of age. They have also expressed confidence that they will be able to agree a fee with Arsenal for the permanent transfer.

"We're getting somewhere, but there's nothing set in stone yet. As the talks have evolved, I'm moderately optimistic, but there's no deal yet," said the President of the club Jokin Aperribay in a recent interview given to the Spanish paper AS. Carlos Vela made 35 appearances for the club last season. He scored 12 goals in these matches. The club will be starting the new campaign in the most difficult fixture possible, as they will be facing Barcelona on the opening day of the new season. The first match against Barcelona will be on August 18. Real Sociedad will be hoping to complete the deal prior to it.
