Vela Not To Be A Part Of 2014

The Mexican footballer- Carlos Vela will not participate in the 2014 World Cup. The former striker for the club Arsenal has obviously stated various other reasons for refusing to be a part of the World Cup 2014. The Mexican Football Association on the other hand made an announcement that Carlos Vela is not emotionally or mentally prepared to be a part of the World Cup.

Carlos Vela represented the national team of Mexico in the year 2011 in a football match against the Venezuela team. Ever since 2011, he has not played any match for Mexico because he has been reportedly having some dispute with the football governing body of Mexico. In the year 2012 also, Vela refused to join the Mexico U-23 team that was participating in the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Vela has been doing pretty well ever since he has joined the Spanish Club- Real Sociedad. He made around thirty-five appearances for the club and 7 assists and 12 goals with Real Sociedad in the 1st season itself. In his second season with the club, Vela has had 9 assists and 14 goals.

The main reason given by Carlos Vela for not playing in World Cup 2014 was that he needed time to adjust with Real Sociedad as he was officially transferred to the club in the year 2012. However, Vela has other personal motives as well for not participating in the 2014 World Cup.

A question that is cropping up in the mind of every football fan is that will Carlos Vela’s absence affect the national team of Mexico substantially because he is surely one of the best Mexican football players and Mexico is going to compete against some of the most important football teams like Brazil, Croatia and Cameroon in the 2014 Summer Olympics. Fans have no option but to wait and watch.
