Carlos Vela - Most Important Player of Real Sociedad

The 25 years old forward of Real Sociedad, Carlos Vela is considered by many to be the best player of Mexico and his influence with the national team has been immense ever since the player joined and represented his country in the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship as Vela emerged as the top scorer of the tournament after having scored 5 goals and earning the Adidas Golden Boot award.

Carlos Vela continued making consistent appearances for Mexico in the senior team since 2007 up until September of 2010 when Vela was suspended from the national team for 6 months for his involvement with a party.

When the suspension was over, Vela was called up by the former coach of Mexico, Jose Manuel de la Torre but due to the player having an unhealthy relationship with the manager, Vela rejected playing for de la Torre and it wasn’t until a few days ago that Carlos Vela finally managed on making a return to the Mexican national team.

Miguel Herrera is the new coach of Mexico and he decided to call Carlos Vela, who finally accepted on playing for his country. Mexico played a friendly match against Netherlands on November 12 which concluded in a 3-2 victory for Mexico with Carlos Vela scoring twice.

A few months ago there were rumors which suggested that Carlos Vela would be interested in making a return to his former club Arsenal but after the Mexican attacker signed a 4 year long contract extension with Real Sociedad, those rumors dissipated as the player has continuously stated that he is happy performing with Real Sociedad and his contract will keep him with the Spanish club at least until 2018.
