Hirving Lozano dreams of playing in the Premier League

PSV Eindhoven attacker Hirving Lozano has revealed his ambition of playing in the Premier League at a particular stage on his professional career. The Mexico international has been a revelation for PSV since joining them from Pachuca nearly 18 months ago but he is still said to harbour the ambition of featuring for a Premier League outfit.

Speaking after the Champions League defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, he said: “I hope that God, some day, gives me a shot at playing in the Premier League. I like it very much. I think the Premier League is great. I think that it would be fabulous to play with any of the clubs, but I would love to play for one of the big clubs. I hope that God gives me the chance.”

Lozano had captured the attention of the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City during the summer of 2017 and PSV eventually won the race for his signature after assuring him of regular gametime. Since then, the 23-year-old has gone from strength-to-strength and he is currently one of the hottest properties across Europe’s top leagues after starring for Mexico at the summer World Cup.

“El Tri once more failed to progress beyond the round of 16 stage of the global tournamen“t but they nevertheless left their mark after securing a shock triumph over Germany in the group stage where Lozano bagged the sole goal of the game. At present, Lozano has more than four years remaining on his existing contract with PSV and the club may “wait until next summer“ at the least before mulling over a probable sale which would surely include a significant profit.

Apart from former suitors, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are among those who have recently joined the pursuit and they could be a potential bidding battle in eight months’ time to decide the future of the young attacker. Lozano has started the current season in fine fashion for PSV and he has already contributed nine goals across all competitions.
