MEXICO CRASH OUT OF OLYMPICS

The defending champions of the men’s Olympic football event have crashed out of the tournament. Mexico lost their last hope of making it on to defend their title when they slumped to a narrow defeat to Korea Republic.

The Group C games were very competitive, yet many fancied the defending champions to at least get a quarter final ticket, but it seems the other teams wanted it more.

Carlos Vela may leave Real Sociedad

Carlos Vela may have to look for another club during the summer.

Indeed it has been a poor season for the Real Sociedad player as not only his performance with the team has been poor he has also not been selected for the Copa America.

AGUILAR SAYS MEXICO DOES NOT MISS CARLOS VELA AND GIOVANI DOS SANTOS

Mexico defender Paul Aguilar says the national team side of Mexico playing at the Copa America does not miss the duo of Carlos Vela and Giovani dos Santos at the tournament.

He admitted that they were great for conversations in the locker room but they had capable replacements on the field hence the team didn’t miss much of them.

DIEGO SIMEONE WANTS TEVEZ BACK IN EUROPE

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone wants Argentine veteran Carlos Tevez back in Europe to play next season.

According to reports TMW, Simeone is keen on the former Juventus, Manchester City and Manchester United player. Tevez who was omitted from the Argentina’s Copa America team currently playing the continental tournament, is currently with Boca Juniors and is due to remain there till June 2018, based on his current deal.

ATLANTA STILL CHASING VELA

Atlanta United remain interested in signing Carlos Vela, despite the player’s stance. According to ESPN’s John Sutcliffe, Atlanta United want the Mexican to join their squad along with PSV Eindhoven midfielder Andres Guardado.

VELA STAYS AT HOME

Carlos Vela finally back from Controversy to Scoring Sheet

After causing much controversy in recent weeks, striker Carlos Vela finally got back on the scoresheet by securing a goal in the 2-1 loss against Getafe.

The future of the Mexican striker at Real Sociedad has been in doubt for the last few months. His form has been extremely poor to even consider a place in the starting line-up. Despite the club struggling for victories, Vela has been unable to get game time. His situation was made even worse when he was pictured at a Chris Brown concert in Madrid. More worryingly, he missed a training session in order to attend this concert.

Carlos Tevez may not get selected for National Team

Carlos Tevez was once the darling of the Argentina national team, but he has been on the fringes of the national team selection for the last few years.

Lionel Messi has been able to take his place, although there was initial resistance towards this move from the supporters. Messi was seen as a traitor at Argentina after having left as a youngster for Barcelona. There were even rumours that Messi thought about playing for the Spanish national team. Tevez, however, played in Argentina for most of his youth before moving to European football with West Ham.

Carlos Tevez to be named as Journeyman after Playing for Several Clubs

Carlos Tevez will be regarded as a journeyman in football after having played for several clubs like West Ham, Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus only in European football.

After having returned to Argentina in the summer to play for his hometown club Boca Juniors, this was seen as a last move for the striker. Given that he is 32 years of age, this move would comfortably see him towards the end of his career with no need of moving elsewhere. This may not be the case after Tevez’ agent claimed that a move to China may be on the cards.

Vela fined after attending Concert

Real Sociedad’s Carlos Vela has been fined after it was discovered that he attended a concert of Chris Brown and the Mexican player had told his club that he was going to miss a training session due to suffering from gastroenteritis but Vela was perfectly fine and he just used that as an excuse to skip a Monday training session from his team.
