Herrera Has Not Given Up On Vela Possibility

Mexico’s manager Miguel Herrera has stated that he has not given up on the possibility of being able to use former Arsenal striker Carlos Vela for the national team. The Mexican international has not been representing the national team in the last few years. Even though he has been part of Mexico’s qualification matches, he invariably pulls out when it comes to major tournaments. Mexico have a wealth of attacking options in the form of Javier Hernandez and Giovanni Dos Santos. Despite this, Herrera will be able to take advantage of Vela, who has come in leaps and bounds in the last few years.

Vela Gets Four Year Contract Extension

Carlos Vela’s contract at Real Sociedad has been extended for the next 4 years.

There were rumours that the English Premier League club Arsenal was planning to get the striker back to Emirates with the help of the buy-back clause, but, Sociedad didn’t let that happen. They paid the Gunners an amount of 12 million Pounds to get that clause removed from the deal.

In the last couple of seasons, Vela has been highly successful for Sociedad. In the 72 league appearances that he has made for them, he has scored 30 goals.

Carlos Vela to return to Arsenal

Jokin Aperribay, the president of Spanish club Real Sociedad has claimed Arsenal are close to exercising their buyback option on Carlos Vela with a £ 3.25 million bid.

The Sociedad boss has said that the two clubs are still tangled in negotiations over keeping the Mexican international in Spain, but he also revealed that Arsenal has made it clear that they will exercise their buy back option for the player.

Vela Suggests Possible Return to Arsenal In Future

Real Sociedad striker Carlos Vela has refused to close the door on a potential return to Arsenal in the future. The 25-year-old could be a transfer target for several clubs in the summer after impressing with the Spanish outfit this season. He has revealed that Arsenal could be able to sign him for just € 4 million, a fee that represents just 1 million euro increased compared to the transfer fee that Real Sociedad paid for him several years ago. This is due to a clause inserted in his contract. Vela also revealed that other clubs will have to pay around £ 25 million or € 30 million in order to sign him.

HERRERA STUNNED

Mexico’s national team manager Miguel Herrera says that he is stunned by the decision of forward Carlos Vela to not be part of the World Cup 2014. The Real Sociedad striker has not appeared for the national team in the previous major tournaments as well.

He is widely expected to announce his retirement at the age of 25. Herrera says that he cannot understand the reason for noncommittal from the forward towards the national team. Herrera’s arrival has heralded a new era for Mexican football after they managed to qualify for the World Cup 2014 at the last moment.

Mexican striker Carlos Vela was recently branded as a traitor by the supporters of the country. This is after the former Arsenal striker decided not to be part of the national team at the World Cup 2014.

Mexico only just managed to get into the competition through the play-offs after beating New Zealand. After the appointment of a new coach, they form has substantially improved in the last couple of weeks. Still, they lack a top class centre forward to be paired along with Hernandez of Manchester United.

The Mexican footballer- Carlos Vela will not participate in the 2014 World Cup. The former striker for the club Arsenal has obviously stated various other reasons for refusing to be a part of the World Cup 2014. The Mexican Football Association on the other hand made an announcement that Carlos Vela is not emotionally or mentally prepared to be a part of the World Cup.

GREATD ECEMBER

December 2013 was fantastic for Carlos Vela. He produced top performances for his club Real Sociedad in almost every league outing and ended up becoming the player of the month leaving behind the great players like Cristiano Ronaldo.

This is Vela’s third season at Sociedad. He made his way to the club as a loan signing in August 2011 and performed well enough to earn a permanent contract at the end of that season.

In the last couple of seasons, he has been the leading forward for Real. He has rarely failed.

Real Sociedad’s Carlos Vela scored 4 times in their encounter against Celta de Vigo some weeks ago, which lifted the spirit and hope for the Spanish team as were scheduled to go head to head with Shaktar Donetsk only 4 days later and Sociedad were in need of some points in order to stay alive for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

VELA MISSES OUT

The newly appointed manager of the Mexican national football team, Victor Manuel Vucetich, has named 5 Europe-based players for El Tri’s upcoming couple of World Cup qualifiers and to everybody’s surprise, Carlos Vela is not one of those players.

The statements that Vela and Vucetich had made a few days ago had indicated that Vela was set to make his way back into the national team, but, that hasn’t happened. Vela has still been kept out.
