Vela out of Mexico team

Carlos Vela was left out of the Mexican team that will face El Salvador and Honduras.

The Real Sociedad striker was already left out of the team that participated at the Copa America and was hoping that he will be featuring in the team for the World Cup qualifiers. With Javier Hernandez and Peralta out injured, Carlos Vela believed that this would be his chance to get back in the team, but the national coach did not call him.

Mexico who has already qualified for the final round of qualifiers will be hoping to end their campaign with some wins especially after their humiliation at the Copa America. Indeed Mexico was thrashed 7-0 by Chile and will be keen to erase this bad memory by getting some wins against smaller opposition.

Carlos Vela had not made an appearance for Mexico since March when Real Sociedad asked the Mexican team not to select their player for the qualifiers. Since then the national coach has looked for alternatives for Carlos Vela and had stuck with them ever since.

Another player that will be missing out on the World Cup qualifiers is Giovanni Dos Santos. Ever since the player rejected a call-up from the national team, he has been left out of the team, and it will be now one year since dos Santos makes an appearance in the Mexican team. The player is currently in great form in the MLS and would have hoped to be featuring in the World Cup qualifiers.

The absence of these two big names will mean that Mexico will be giving chances to some younger players. Indeed the national coach is busy preparing the future and will be hoping that players such as Lozano and Corano will seize their opportunity and make a name for themselves in the qualifiers.
