VELA SUBBED OFF AGAINST DC UNITED

Mexican international Carlos Vela was subbed off in the second half of the Major League Soccer (MLS) clash between hosts LAFC and D. C. United.Vela was in the LAFC starting XI for the D. C.

United game as a forward alongside Uruguayan attacker Brian Rodriguez and Cristian Arango. Carlos Vela started the game on the right side of the LAFC attack, while Rodriguez was on the left side of the LAFC attack. On his part, Colombian star Arango was the focal point of the LAFC attack.

LAFC ran out 1-0 winners at the expense of the visiting D. C. United in their latest encounter in the MLS. LAFC were buoyed by the red card to D. C. United defender Steve Birnbaum. Birnbaum was given his marching orders on the hour mark after two yellow cards. It took hosts LAFC just seven minutes to make the numerical advantage count thanks to the strike from Ghanaian attacker KwadwoOpoku midway into the second half and his goal turned out to be the winner. Opoku came off the bench in place of the aforementioned Rodriguez and it took him just five minutes to get the winning goal off the assist from Arango.
Carlos Vela is a regular in the LAFC team and he was on for 73 minutes before being subbed off for Latif Blessing. He has a good record of goals and assists for his team in the MLS. The former Arsenal and Real Sociedad star had eight goals and seven assists in 23 appearances in the MLS this season.
With the help of Carlos Vela in attack, LAFC have been able to take top spot in the Western Conference as far as the 2022 MLS season is concerned. They have a nine-point lead over Austin in second place at the top of the table.
