VELA ON TARGET AGAINST CHARLOTTE
Mexican star Carlos Vela was on target for Los Angeles FC (LAFC) during the 5-0 thrashing of Charlotte FC at home. The former Real Sociedad and Arsenal attacker was responsible for one of the five LAFC goals during the MLS (Major League Soccer) clash.

After a goalless affair in the first 45 minutes, it took just four minutes for LAFC to break the deadlock in the second half thanks to the goal from Jesus Murillo. His strike gave LAFC the platform to record a sixth straight victory via the big win over Charlotte FC when the two teams met on the MLS football scene on Saturday, August 14.
Ten minutes after the opener from Murillo, Jose Cifuentes doubled the lead for LAFC to take the game further away from Charlotte FC. It was the seventh goal of the season for Cifuentes. Cifuentes then turned provider for the third LAFC goal scored by Carlos Vela on 73 minutes. Vela has been a regular goalscorer for LAFC this season and he found the back of the net against Charlotte FC last weekend to make it eight goals this season.
With fourteen minutes left on the clock, Cristian Arango scored the fourth LAFC goal. There were just three minutes between the Vela and Arango goals. It was goal number 12 for Arango this season.LAFC sealed the win when Charlotte FC defender Anthony Walkes it through his own net.
Charlotte FC made it two losses after the heavy defeat against LAFC and four losses from the last five games.
